Range
West Asia across South Asia into Southeast Asia (as the combined Asian tit)
The Japanese tit was formerly a separate species but is now grouped with the Asian, or cinereous, tit, which is found from parts of West Asia across South Asia into Southeast Asia. The several populations of that group were earlier treated as subspecies of the great tit; the Asian tit is grey-backed with white underparts, whereas the great tit in the new sense has a greenish back and yellowish underside (Wikipedia, general species account).
