Buff-rumped Woodpecker

The zebra woodpecker was described by Thomas Horsfield in 1821 as Picus tristis from a specimen collected in Java. The account used here gives its range as Java, in subtropical or tropical dry forest and moist lowland forest, so lists that name it for the Malay Peninsula (sometimes under the name buff-rumped woodpecker) should be checked (Wikipedia, general species account).
